Hamish is looking forward to taking part in the Santa Fun Run again this year and sends you Waggy tail thanks for donation of pennies for DSSL and perhaps a biscuit or two for him to keep up his strength 😉
He might even let you take a photo of him in his Santa suit.
Pictures from Sunday’s Great Eastern Run – Half Marathon.
A fantastic day with great atmosphere and perfect running conditions! (So I’m told!)
Paul Crawley completed the course in 2 hours and 22 minutes, Jane Barnes completed it in a time of 2 hours and 14 minutes; followed by Rob Barnes, who completed the course in 1 hour and 41 minutes!
Well done to you all! It’s a fantastic achievement and we’re so grateful to you for choosing us to raise funds for.
Paul and Jane have currently raised over £400!!
You can still donate at https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/paulcrawley1 or https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/janebarnes1
You can donate at either of the links until 8th November 2017.
Well done once again gang! 🏃♀️🏃
A big thank you to Paul Crawley (Danie’s Dad) who will be running the Perkins Great Eastern Run (Half Marathon) to raise money for our charity. You are a star Paul!
The Perkins Great Eastern Run (Half Marathon) takes place on Sunday 8th October in Peterborough. The start time is 10.30am.
Thanks to everyone who has sent in such beautiful and amusing photos of their sunflowers – here is a small selection.
Now we need to know the height of your tallest. From what we’ve heard, this year’s growth hasn’t been as good as last year when Wayne’s grew to over 14 feet and the head of Len’s was 18 inches across.
We have started receiving some of your sponsorship money too which is gratefully received and will all go to continue the daily work of Dementia Support South Lincs.
A big thank you to our new friends Ron and Wally and the members of the Ketton Healthy Walks group for their very generous donation of £250.
What a happy and welcoming group of people. They have been walking together every Thursday afternoon for eight years (I hope I’ve remembered that correctly) and their oldest member, Wally, is now over 90. Walking is obviously very good for you!
One of our Dementia Awareness Week fundraising events – We hope to see you there!
Wed, 17 May 2017 at Deeping Sports & Social Club. Click here to see event details.
Come and join us at the Deepings Sports and Social Club Charity Ball on 24th June.
Help raise money for our charity and breast cancer support at Peterborough Hospital – but even more exciting – come and see our very own Francis sporting his new kilt and maybe even shaking a leg on the dance floor!!!!!
A big thank you to 1st Bourne Scouts for inviting us to your charity event at Wake House. It was a great opportunity to hear about local charities and the work they do in and around Bourne. It was an honour to be included.
Danie did a great job telling everyone about Dementia Support South Lincs and collecting the scouts’ donation. Remember when the scouts offered to pack your shopping in Sainsbury’s? Well, the money you put in their buckets has now been shared between local charities ranging from us, DSSL, Butterfield Centre, Bourne 2 Play and the outdoor pool, to name but a few.
Keep up the good work 1st Bourne Scouts!
Another Santa Fun Run under our belt – well done team MEMORY BOX.
We managed to complete the 5 km “stroll” in just over an hour! Thank you to everyone who sponsored us. As soon as we have a total we’ll let you know but we think we might have raised a few hundred pounds this year.
Spending a winter morning with 800 Santas definitely gets you into the Christmas spirit!

Well it looks like our charity is entering the Burghley Santa Fun Run again this year and thanks to Denis’ efforts at the Christmas Fayre yesterday, we now have over £100 in pledges – the only problem is I (that is me, Kate) is a team of ONE at the moment.
Anyone else fancy joining me? I should just say – I’ll be walking not running but I don’t want that to hinder any potential running mates!!!
